What is Mental Health Navigator?


When your employees call the MHN, they will speak with a Navigator. Navigators are trained professionals, with backgrounds as occupational therapists, nurses or social workers. Your employees can call about an existing, diagnosed mental health concern. They can also call in if they’re just not feeling like themselves.


Here is how the service works:

  • The Navigator will gather the employee’s history (including treating physicians, institutions, etc.)
  • The Navigator will set up a video consult with a psychologist or psychiatrist.
  • The psychologist or psychiatrist will look at the employee’s case and give an expert report and clinical plan.
  • Your employee can share this report with their treating physician to develop a formal treatment plan.
  • The Navigator can also help your employee by answering any questions and giving updates throughout the review.

When will this become available for my employees?


This service is available to you if Teladoc Health’s Best Doctors is a part of your Extended Health Care (EHC) benefit. This service will be effective June 1, 2020. It applies to plan members and their families (spouse, dependents, parents, parents-in-law) covered by the EHC benefit.
