A relief measure has been adopted indefinitely for all Desjardins contracts effective October 1, 2020.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
If the Government of Canada issues a Level 3 Travel Warning (Avoid Non- Essential Travel), Desjardins will cover eligible medical expenses including those related to COVID-19, regardless of whether a plan member books their trip either before or after the alert has been issued. If the Government of Canada issues a Level 4 Travel Warning (Avoid All Travel Advisory), Desjardins will not cover expenses for trips with departure dates after the notice was issued. If the plan member is already in a region when a Level 4 advisory is issued, they will cover their eligible medical expenses, but the plan member must leave the area as soon as possible. There are no changes to the trip cancellation coverage - it remains the same.
